Unfortunately AOG there is probably no way to end the Islamic jihadi threat to the UK or anywhere else, without declaring all out war to eradicate them world wide.
That would not suit economic interests (oil + comfort + vested interests) so the equivalent of 'keeping Hitler on the mainland' are what the moral cowards are adopting.

There are probably more people killed each year in road traffic accidents in the UK than have ever been killed by terrorists. They can bring grief and misery to the families of their victims but don't represent any serious threat to the UK.

There is a military technique called 'attrition' If you can isolate an enemy so that it's forces and supplies cannot be replenished as quickly as they are destroyed then they will be defeated. When none of the jihadis can afford an easyjet flight to Gatwick we will all be safe :o)

Indeed, terrorist attacks in the UK aren't accidents. But they present no more danger to the stability of the state and its institutions than any accident does.
The can leave survivors suffering a lifetime of pain, and relatives and friends of those killed with grief filled days, but no more than that.

My answers here have been serious. A few terrorist incidents won't change anything.
Look at the situation in NI during Thatcher's early days in office. She is said to have considered, but quickly rejected, plans to redraw the border. If that had happened it would have come about because of years of near civil war. A few isolated incidents would never have brought such a plan to the attention of senior politicians.
