there was no meeting of minds; it was a political decision to work together so that both parties would have a share of power. Don't expect politicians to be friends, especially when relationships are unequal. Clegg's doing the sensible thing, backing away from the Tories as the election approaches, so that he's still open to offers from Labour if they do well next time round.
He told Ed Miliband that people would not forget what Labour did to the economy, and he warned David Cameron that he could copy Lib Dem ideas, but would never imitate their values.
