A stupid move to make it whipped in the first place. It should be a matter of conscience for each Labour MP. The Conservatives and LibDems get a free vote. Allowing a loophole to avoid the whip is in effect a free vote.
Daft politics which leave the rest of the country perplexed at what the point of it is.

The Bill has been brought to the House by a Labour MP. A last minute amendment will be attempted to be added to it. It is largely sybolic, it will not affect Government policy. Normally voting against your own party is a resigning issue, but normally a moral issue is given a free vote. As the Bill is largely symbolic, they have decided to relax the whip and avoid unnecessary resignations. But why they imposed the whip in the first place is idiotic.
The LibDems are in favour of he Bill, but Conservatives have more ties to Israel so may vote against it if it is seen as anti-Israel.
