If BF appeal, which seems probable, over Royal Mail's refusal to issue the leaflet, it will be very interesting to see what happens.

RM state they will not deliver literature that is deemed to be abusive, threatening, insulting etc. I've not seen this leaflet in its entirety but without exception, I am insulted by claims made by parties who continually twist the facts and figures in an attempt to get our vote. All the main parties are guilty of insulting the electorates intelligence at times!

...on the other hand you have people like my 93-year old (just to mention her again :-) ) who need reminding exactly what they stand for.
There might be good reasons for opposing a "mega-mosque", but it's important that people know the likely reasons why these particular people are doing so.

I do wish people would stop banging on about colour. Culture is the divide – not colour. That said, Mikey, in insisting that ‘we should be opposing the Far Right at every opportunity’ overlooks the fact that there is no group more far right than fundamentalist Islam.

BF's solicitors have written to the RM requesting clarification on what basis the leaflet 'may' be unlawful.

Hope they have a good answer. By the RM's own words, they are not 100% sure.

Hardly matters in reality anyway, the publicity that the decision has caused speaks volumes...

That would be easy if we knew what is question was.

It is amazing that any group that opposes Islam is deemed far right wing, fascist, and racist, or any other derogative description that they can place against them. Yet the group that they are campaigning against, systematically carry out the most horrific and savage crimes, throughout the world.

When we see these 'right-wing' groups carry out similar such crime against those that they oppose, then it will be justifiable to criticise them and take action against them, but until then, let them demonstrate, march, or wave their banners, it is not yet unlawful.

And before someone accuses me of supporting them, I do not, but I do agree with some of their views, but I just don't condemn anyone just because someone tells me to dislike them.

Whatever the merits of the BF argument, people will decide for themselves and not because someone else tells them they don't support them.
