"The mistake these idiots always seem to make make is that they think they're talking exclusively to their own little gang of like minded cronies.
They seem to forget that there's a whole load of other people out there who are going want an explanation for the snobbery/bigotry/misogyny/racism/stupidity/nastiness that they're displaying for the whole world to see. "
I think you have summed up UKIP party activists very nicely. I may be in a minority of one, but I am bemused that this incident has caused such a fuss. It's a sign of the times, no doubt: social media comment, by whoever, leads to over-reaction, recrimination, indignation and often resignation. And all because in this case a comment was made, which had it been made by another party would have been regarded as "good old UKIP telling it like it is". Except in this case she is spot on, if ill-advised and naive in the current climate.
What did she say: "This is Rochester"? And so it was I believe.
