I am wondering if anyone else thinks there are similiarities between Margaret Thatcher and Nicola Sturgeon particularly to the division caused within the country and her dogmatic arrogant stance. ??

"Grabbing what she can"?
Like what?

MT was a winner, NS doesn't even know a winner!
Margaret Thatcher was conservative with a small c. Nicola Sturgeon is the exact opposite.
Thatcher was a winner? The country wasn't.

1979, 1983 and 1987 look fairly convincing, she was the Prime Minister of the United Kingdom from 1979 to 1990 and the Leader of the Conservative Party from 1975 to 1990. She was the longest-serving British Prime Minister of the 20th century and is the only woman to have held the office.
More people buy the Sun than any other newspaper, doesn't mean that they are buying the best publication for providing them with news.

Wasn't it the Sun who ran the Headline "We Support Tony" just before he was elected in '97.
Just shows how good their judgement was!
What annoys the sisterhood of the left more than anything else is the fact that it was a Tory lady who broke through the glass ceiling and not one of their own.

The amount of damage done to the Country by the Labour Government in their last term in Office is still causing problems today.
Both loud mouthed and arrogant. One dead one still alive and kicking unfortunately. Both VERY divisive figures. Both have Penelope Pitstop hairstyles. I dislike both VERY much. So, yes Gordie, one and the same person to me.
no similarity at all.
The Nippy Sweetie has as much potential to cause utter mayhem as Thatcher did, the good thing is that she's stuck as part of the UK on her own she would have been even more dangerous than Kim Jock Eck
bibblebub, how old are you? clearly never lived through the 60's/70's.

Anyway congratulations all, I must say I feared another vitriol fest from the brainwashed left and I have to say apart from a few snide ignorant comments you all did well so many thanks.

Has Nicola Sturgeon killed off all enterprises in Scotland then like shipbuilding, coalmining, steel production & put masses of people out of work & reduced her country to being a puppet European state ?
Not yet Whiskeyron........ not yet
TGL must have done it right if the anti British are still whinning a quarter of a century after she left office!
And well after she is dead too TTT.

It's an influence I can only dream of.

These to have little in common politically but I sort of see where Gordie is coming from. Dogmatic arrogant approach is perhaps not the best term to use to get your point over though. I thin you let your Thatcher hatred get in the way of what could have been a good debate.
