I just don't get it. Kim is the third generation of what appears to be a communist monarchy. Surely there must be some powerful people in NK who could overthrow this clown? If it were not for Chinese protection he and his tribe would have been gone long ago.

The issue of succession maybe the one why they don't push it - who is the next loon in the system? Bit like some of the nations in Africa, start with the generals and then gradually work downwards. Sergeant Rawlings wasn't it, in Ghana? Actually, he has proven to be reasonably sane.

The BBC article doesn't say he refers to Barack Obama as "a monkey", but that Obama's action was compared to those of a monkey. Simple fist shaking going on.
