What Katie doesn't grasp is that her husband's love for her is not rooted in her hip measurement - it's who she is.

I know that's difficult to accept, given just who she is, but it may have done her good to allow her husband to love her as much when she was fat as he did thin - it might have helped to address her seriously shallow hate-bait views about obesity.

That in turn might have made her a less shallow, self-obsessed, over-opinionated, attention-seeking idiot - which would be good for everyone! Media URL: http://www.dailymail.co.uk/femail/article-2889824/Katie-Hopkins-BANNED-husband-having-sex-piling-pounds-fat-people-aren-t-sexy.html

Nailed! And quite rightly so!
You don't support her view but you think it 'important' that she be given air-time to express them?

Zacs-Master - "You don't support her view but you think it 'important' that she be given air-time to express them?"

No I don't think it is important that she is given air time to express her views - I think it is important that air time is given to her to express her views - which is not the same thing.

This is what I said -

"I think the fact that someone is given media space to encourage the perception that overweight people are overweight because they are too stupid and / or idle to be otherwise is important."

I did not say that her view and its expression was important, what I said was, the fact that she is given airtime to air such views is what is important.

I don't think Katie Hopkins' opinions on anything are anything more than an attept to stir up hostility and increase her profile, and that is what is important - that we have a media that panders to this kind of nonsense.

We give a platform for expression of the view of an unpleasant woman who looks down on other people for their lifestyles and views, and then the media plays up to the hostility which is the entire raisnon d'etre of her opening her mouth.

It is the sociological aspect of her that is important - out media

I hope that has cleared up any misunderstanding.
how someone who only came to prominence through losing a reality tv show has come to be so feted by the media is quite frankly a bit of a mystery.

mushroom25 - "how someone who only came to prominence through losing a reality tv show has come to be so feted by the media is quite frankly a bit of a mystery."

No mystery at all mush.

Our media loves dropping hate bombs - and Katie Hopkins is happy to play that game for them - she is utterly aware of what she is doing, and obviously accepts the hostility that accompanies the positions she takes on easy issues.

She generates interest, and anger, which translates into column inches.

If she was ignored, as she should be, she would vanish overnight, but we do get the press we deserve.

Wow indeed!

105 replies and rising, she must be doing something right!
She first came to prominence 2007 after being caught shaggin in fields with a colleague much to the shame of her employers....
