the matter was fully risk assessed, and the risk of not training these soldiers was far greater than the risk that they might rape, pillage or murder while they were here.

well that's ok then, the government has properly justified your daughter's rape.
We have to train these characters to the point where they're capable of organising a military coup so we can invade a short while after.
It keeps the wheels of industry turning
The G8 agreed to train 7,000 soldiers. We took 2,000. It would be interesting how the Libyans in other countries are fairing?

The Libyan Government are paying for the training. Possibly vetting for more suitable candidates might need to be introduced.
I am anti-war so don't agree with this anyway. However, I don't think my opinion would matter much to whoever deals with such agreements, so not much good saying anything.
As well as being an accident waiting to happen, it is also a financial mess.

The bill for the traing is £17.2million, of which the Libyans have paid £2.5million. A shortfall of £14million.

Sorry for the RT link, but it is quite informative.

That was the first lot of 300 trainees, we have agreed to train 2,000.

/// The new disclosure has thrown into doubt plans to train 2,000 soldiers under an agreement reached at the 2013 G8 summit. The Government is now reviewing whether it will be possible to train more recruits on British soil. ///
Repeat: Possibly vetting for more suitable candidates might need to be introduced.
Too many beers.
Gromit these were supposed to be 'The Elite' the future leaders, the best of the best. That was why they were chosen. They were supposed to go home and train the others!

My eyes are a little bleary this New Years Day morning, I thought that said "Too Many Beards".
