I am surprised that this thread just seems to focus on Germany. The fuse has been fizzing in towns and cities in most European countries. Either the governments listen to the protests against Islamificati on and quench the fuse or they put their fingers in their ears, stick their heads up their arris rails and wait for the explosion. It is a fact that Christian...

Incidentally - one of Muslim mates is married to a white girl.
Both families were extremely worried about it would be perceived by their respective wider families.
Nothing really happened.
They have three beautiful kids now.
Not convinced he could be included in idea of 'the generic Muslim'.
Do you tell your Muslim mate of your concerns? I think it might help alleviate your worries if you did.
Then again, she might scream "Death to the infidel", and completely ruin my argument...

TWR,
I do not think the 'wailing' is allowed. I live near a mosque, and they do no broadcast the call to prayer. I cannot be sure in other areas, but I have not heard of complaints about noise.
I also live near to a church, and the bell ringing from that is a real nuisance, especially when they are 'practising'.

sp, my argument isn’t founded upon guesswork, but upon experience and simple logic . Do you really think if the demographic changed your mates would opt to continue to drink with you? They wouldn't be doing it for long. Apart from the fact that there would be nowhere to drink, self-preservation would take precedence.
I don’t need to tell my Muslim friends of my concerns. Several of them fled Cairo when the Muslim Brotherhood came to power. They know all about the perils of fundamentalist Islam – and I’ve no doubt your mates do too.

There's something wrong with the Pegida 'strollers'. They don't loot the shops, they don't fight with the police, hell, they don't even drop litter.
Perhaps some of our left-wingers could go over and show them how to do it properly. (before the German government resorts to planting agents provocateurs)

And my counter-argument is based on friendships I've had going back years, and like yours - coupled with logic.
You're using the experience of your friends, not mine. It's a little presumptive to assume that your experience is applicable to every Muslim in the UK.
Wen you say, "Do you really think if the demographic changed your mates would opt to continue to drink with you? They wouldn't be doing it for long. Apart from the fact that there would be nowhere to drink, self-preservation would take precedence."
I think that you are talking about a situation where the UK became an Islamic state. Is that where you were going with that?
If so, I have to say that sounds a lot like absurdum ad reductio.
You may as well argue that if all horses were replaced with unicorns, there would be many more injuries at Ascot next year.
Absolutely - but it's not a strong argument because of the unlikelihood of it happening.
Winged horses - yes, because they exist...but unicorns do not.

Please indulge my curiosity though I apologise to TTT for wandering off thread a bit.
Does the church and the campanologists therein whose practising cause you annoyance pre date your birth and/or you taking up residency in that particular locale and more to the point, I suppose, did the mosque pre date your birth or is that a fairly recent addition?
