/// The inspecting team, which was led by Joan Hewitt, concluded: ‘Leaders are failing to prepare students for life in modern Britain. Some students hold discriminatory views of other people who have different faiths, values or beliefs from themselves.’ ///
Meet the Government’s 'diversity' agenda or be closed down.
/// Durham Free has been told to close after inspectors branded it an educational failure and said some children displayed ‘discriminatory views’ toward people of other faiths. The boy’s answer to the Muslim question apparently included a reference to terrorism. ///
Oh dear should have said, "they are peace loving people who build lovely buildings called Mosques".
/// A second Christian school in the area has been put into special measures. Inspectors also concluded its children were intolerant after allegedly asking ten-year-old pupils what lesbians ‘did’. ///
Oh dear should have said "they are two ladies who are in a loving relationship".

We really are going round in circles here aren't we, it's starting to look a bit "I know you are but what am I".
I think I'm going to have a cup of coffee but don't worry - I'll be back later ;-)

/// Talbot, I say - it's done in irony but (from my POV) to see who doth protest the most at the term. That in itself could say a lot about the protestor and lead to further interesting debate. ///
It would if I personally called someone a fascist or a Nazi, but what you failed to notice was the fact that I was merely making a comparison with Nazis Germany techniques.
PS 'protestor' First your predictive text and now your spell checker, must get that device of yours seen to.

/// Your copied text about Nazis / teachers appears to make no sense whatever in the context of this thread - am I missing something? ///
It's called the indoctrination of pupils to a specific agenda."
I understand that - how is that relevant to this thread?
I have not read the report - does it make reference to indoctrination?
Are you seriously comparing the modern British education system with Nazi Germany?
If so, I suggest you investigate how education actually works from someone who knows about it first hand.
Hint - your starting point should not be national newspapers with an axe to grind and copies to sell by fostering ignorance.

So as you were referring to the Daily Mail story, is it not fair to conclude that the reason the school is closing down to the following:
"...when it was inspected in November, Ofsted failed it on a wide range of factors including poor teaching, attainment and behaviour. ‘Standards are low and progress is inadequate,’ inspectors said. ‘Students’ achievement is weak."

Here's my theory - schools do not get closed down because of offhand comments by one or two pupils.
I believe that Ofsted inspectors judge schools and academies by a number of verifiable metrics. I will defer to andy_hughes on this, but from a standpoint of sheers and unadulterated common sense, this story stinks like a caravan full of monkey nappies.

Yes perhaps this was the reason for them to close the school, but I was referring to the anti-PC reasons they also quoted.
