Oh I am so pleased you put that because I have been waiting to post this story, but I thought some might say "another Daily Mail non-story".

But if a £100 fine is getting tough with revenge porn, then what chance do the victims of it stand, no matter how silly they have been?

Again, I find myself on the far side of the generation gap.

It surely should be taken as read that anything at all stored on electronic media has the capacity to be misused, and people should store information and images about themselves accordingly.

I don't have a Twitter or Facebook account - and anyone is welcome to hack into my e-mail if they are really interested (which I doubt!) - there is nothing whatever on there that could embarrass or upset me by its dissemination.

I fail to understand why anyone who lives in the internet and electronic communication world can be surprised if their privacy is invaded like this.

That does not mean that I think this woman is to blame, or that she 'got what she deserved' - merely that she was naiive, and has compounded her misery by reading and taking any notice of any of the communications she received.

Cyber bullying is eliminated if you close your eyes, or simply don't use social media.

Contrary to the perception of many, it is not actually compulsory.

Not sure that is the same. The girl who was fined made images without the other girl's consent. And then posted them. That is different than making your own pirn images then not keeping them secure.

No Gromit it was you who mentioned 'REVENGE' Porn, and that is not about producing pictures of one's self and storing them on a 'cloud'

It is about a partner or friend (as in this case) taking inappropriate photos and then for some kind of revenge posted them on-line for all to see.

Actually, it was the woman in the Guardian story who described that as revenge porn, but I am not sure it is. Unless she knew the person who stole her pictures, how is the stealer gaining any revenge? If the stealer is a stranger, the revenge element does not come into it.
I take revenge porn to mean a former friend or acquaintence who somehow had access to your pictures, posting them as a malicious act against you when that relationship sours.
