/// My view is that it looks seriously anachronistic, but I have never been a son reader, so it's hard to think how they do. ///

Good for you Andy, don't read your SON'S material. :0)
Why buy a newspaper to see one pair of boobs, I really cant imagine that these days, 20 years ago maybe! but naked women are so easily found online, including all the free porn video action you would ever wish to find.

I really don't think bare boobs will stir many guys these days.

I think the Sun continue to print page three out of tradition more than anything.
LOL!

Anyone remember Jane in the Mirror? all very risqué way back then.

youngmafbog - "// I have never been a son reader, so it's hard to think how they do.//

Why do you feel the need to look down on anyone ? Why does a Sun Reader think differently?"

You are seeing an attitude that is simply not there.

I am not implying that Sun readers are in any way inferior to readers of any other papers - I could equally say that I don't know how Telegraph or Guardian readers think - I don't read those papers either.

By all means feel free to challenge me on a point I make - but not on one you imagine me to have made.

"And BTW, they can probably spell Sun, you dont appear to be able to."

A simple typing error - I am sure your missing apostrophe in the word 'don't was a similar mistake - we all make them.
Svejk - "Lol. I bet Andy winces when he sees an England flag."

No, I don't - any reason why I would?
"Page 3" continues online (er, so I am told)
To judge from the experts from the building site interviewed by the BBC the other day, binning the idea might not be such a good idea circulation-wise.
And surprise surprise the Sun decides to capitalise on the publicity with a "mammary lapse".
Comedy gold!
Yes, I believe you Andy, but using terms like " it's hard to think how they do" when many derogatory remarks are made on this site toward Sun readers was not perhaps the best ?

And yes, I was well aware of the typo I simply capitalized on it.
youngmafbog - "Yes, I believe you Andy, but using terms like " it's hard to think how they do" when many derogatory remarks are made on this site toward Sun readers was not perhaps the best ?"

I have never written, or indeed said anything which is adapted on the basis of any misunderstanding it may cause - and I never will.

I prefer to make my point, and if I have not expressed myself clearly, or if someone has misunderstood - an occupational hazard of written communication - then I'll sort it out then - as we have done here.

Cocking? um, maybe brought a lump to the throat of a few!

But not as bad as //Chocking// I imagine
"I don't believe many buy the Sun just for page 3."

Probably not just for, but when potential consumers have a choice between popular newspapers, it may be the distinguishing selling point that makes the difference. Especially if a teenage lad, but for many working guys too. Something to brighten the day between the doom & gloom of the news articles.
