Oh so just because it happened to be from uncouth Fry it is perfectly acceptable?
Note the BBC's response, first they address him as Stephen instead of using his surname as is generally the case with others, then go on to excuse him because that is how he is.

He didnt just use a swear word. He introduced someone as x effing x, which is disgusting and uncalled for.
He said it was "pissing down" with stars. Why? Not funny and not clever.
He kissed a man on the lips. Again unnecessary.
He imitated Stephen Hawkins synthesised voice. Was that amusing? No it was cruel and silly.
He talked about his toyboy husband - as if enough hasnt already been said
Why should people have to switch off a programme they wanted to watch due to the self obsessed foul mouthed commentator? Watershed or not it was not even slightly entertaining and BBC should not defend using this has been.

"Almost every body does it" A lot of people drive a car whilst on the phone. Doesn't make it right. If you swear and that makes you a very knowledgeable person, then, YOU tell me why it is not a sign of ignorance. I was just giving an example of a paradox. I was not being judgemental on Fry. BTW a paradox is a contradiction in terms!
