I have watched the footage again and again, and its quite clear that the Policeman deliberately pushed this elderly Indian chap. As regards to him needing to speak English before he visits a foreign country, how many of the millions of Brits that go abroad for holidays every year bother to learn the language while they are there, let alone before they leave !
This quote from the BBC link :::
"Police officials in Madison, Alabama, apologised to Mr Patel and his family at a news conference on Thursday. They said one of the officers involved in last Friday's incident had been arrested, and officials had recommended that he be fired"
This poor man was only in the States to help his grandson, who had recently been born prematurely. Another quote from the BBC link :::
"The officer involved "did not meet the high standards and expectations of the Madison Police Department", said Madison Police Chief Larry Muncey"
So, as the evidence is so damning and the Police have not bothered to do the usual covering up act, I don't think that there is any doubt, whatsoever, whose fault this tragic incident is down to, and its not Mr Patel.
I suppose Mr patel should be thankful that he wasn't a Black American, as he might not have lived to tell the tale. When are the American Police going to realise that when they find themselves in a hole, it might be a good idea to stop digging it any deeper.
