Many already are. Egypt's tourist trade is suffering quite badly.
Yep. I'm looking at holidays at the moment and my OH absolutely refuses to go to a Muslim country.
Oh come on its no more dangerous than the streets of London.
Holiday in Ukraine instead:-)
Apart from the WW2 period has the World ever been such an unsafe place?
// Many already are. Egypt'The tourist trade is suffering quite badly.//

leaving aside Hagada and sharm el shake - the tourist industry stands at nil.

I am still looking for a Nile cruise.... the tourist industry darn sarth was worth at least a billion bucks ( to the Egyptians )

Would you like to go to the National Museum ?
No thank you - I want to be able to return for dinner ....

Tourists are not fools - if necessary they just dont turn up
cancellation fees are not a problem if there is a chance of being shot or mutliated....

skiing or cross country running in the East is a favourite sport
away from the Russians that is !
I'd say avoid the Islamic world full stop. Kin mental cases.
No.

There was a terrorist attack in Paris a couple of months ago. London has been attacked, so has Glasgow.

If you want to totally minimise the miniscule danger, you should holiday under your stairs.
That's exactly what ISIL et al. want.....economic destruction of North Africa, instability and then they make their move, right into the under-belly of Europe.
I went to Egypt a few months ago. From the state of the parked empty boats on the Nile, the tourist trade is down by 90 - 95 percent. There are still crowds at Abu Simbel, for instance, but in few other places. We have to depend on the advice of the Foreign Office to tour operators - if the FO says avoid that place, the tour companies must do so or their insurance will not cover them. If the FO doesn't issue warnings, we must assume the tours will be as safe as they can be. The warnings are based on Consular information sent regularly from foreign countries to London by consulate staff.
I have visited Tunis and that superb museum, so I know what the place is like, and I grieve for those who have suffered and died.

There is always Rhyl, Skeggy or South Sea.
Many more people go to America on their hols, that go to Tunisia. I know where I would feel safer !
Anotheoldgit,

Rhyl was the destination of family holidays when I was a small child. We went for a day trip last year and the place was horrible.

Looking forward to my fortnight in Turkey in June.
Off topic perhaps but I had to attend a conference in Blackpool in 1995, and it was the worse long weekend of my life....give me Tunisia any day !

I'd have thought Labour Party conferences, wherever the location, would have been riveting occasions. ☺

Has your family tipped off the Terrorist Squad? :0)
None of the places that might be referred as Muslim countries are places I'd want to go anyway, and that's not particularly because of the religion. It's just that none of those countries interest me as a prospective holiday destination.
