Below are two conflicting reports, so was it suicide or wasn't it?

/// The co-pilot of the doomed Germanwings Airbus A320 locked his captain out of the cockpit before deliberately crashing into a mountain to 'destroy the plane', it was sensationally revealed today. ///

/// And asked whether he believed the crash that killed 150 people was the result of suicide, he said: 'People who commit suicide usually do so alone... I don't call it a suicide.' ///

There is another thread going on this AOG but my understanding is he is saying suicide is too ??sympathetic?? a word to describe someone who takes other people's lives while taking their own. He might be thinking murder may be a better term.
They are going to seriously reconsider security in the cock-pit,I just heard a spokesman saying they MAY have to consider studying the psychological profile of pilots,I would have thought this was already standard procedure, obviously not!

Thanks for the explanation, and yes that does sound feasible.

Where is the other thread going on about this Prudie?

"Prosecutor says he does not believe disaster was terrorism or suicide"

What the hell was it then?

Murder or homicide does not really matter they cannot prosecute a corpse! If he wanted to commit suicide he did not need to take all those other people with him?
I had a friend who was a pilot but he suffered mild depression and the moment he seeked help he was sacked and now lives on benefits. They do check these things.
and the moment he seeked help he was sacked

That'll encourage others to report depression won't it!
Talbot,it does not exactly fill one with confidence regarding who is flying planes does it?
Those are not conflicting reports.

The second report means it was mass murder.
A whole bunch of bipolar pilots too scared to confess for fear of the sack...brilliant!

Yes but surely news moves on and my thread was 'Breaking news' that the co-pilot crashed the plane deliberately.
AOG you asked a question and received an accurate answer.

Naom's thread has continued to run the course through out the entire day and the news was broken on her thread by Ladybirder an hour prior to your post.
Uk...sought not seemed...sorry but it has to be said.
Uk...seeked....damned predictive text! (Not seemed as it posted)
a quiet little prayer for the family of all those who lost their lives would be more appropriate at this time.
Only guessing, but I reckon he had a grudge against his employer. It was not just a suicide but an attempt to damage the asset (a multi million pound plane) and the reputation of the carrier. It might be something as simple as a dispute over shifts or money that made him do something really irrational.

Oh I am so sorry, does one have to read each and every post of all the threads on a particular subject, especially on one that has received 98 answers just in case someone has already made reference to something one has decided to post on?

All this correcting people, such as the person that put this /// "Uk...sought not seemed...sorry but it has to be said". ///

Why did it have to be said?

Let's just debate on the subject put before us, without this type of criticism, one is always free not to debater if that is what they choose.
