For more on marking an answer as the "Best Answer", please visit our FAQ."if they yearn so much for Pakistan, why do they live here?" Again, assumptions galore. Do you really honestly think it is completely impossible that people could be perfectly happy living in a country to which they or their ancestors emigrated, but also wish to in some way pay respects to their or their ancestors' country of origin? Does that simple act automatically mean they dislike their adoptive country, refuse to integrate, etc?
Mr Simon Danczuk the great Labour campaigner against paedophilia who likes watching a bit of porn just to prove he is like the man on the street???
Of course he would fly the Pakistani flag on a Labour run Town Hall on Pakistan Day. We are soon to enter an election and it was his party that trawled all these immigrants into the country just to get their vote.Got to keep them sweet just like all the Pakistani paedophiles that the Labour run Rochdale council were unaware of.
He quite rightly campaigns against the exploitation of young children for sex but cannot reason that some of the women he enjoys seeing in porn films may also have been exploited as sex slaves for his gratification.

Of course the British expats are a shining example of integration.
I know many British people who live in Spain and not all of them live in the holiday hotspots. Very few bother to learn the language, those that work usually work for British people who will only employ British people. Some fiddle the system - don't pay proper taxes and insurance and work on the black market. Some come back to the UK every three months to get their prescriptions and health care.
Some of their children go to international schools rather than the local Spanish schools. The Union Flag flies in abundance on every possible occasion. They celebrate Guy Fawkes with bonfires and fireworks. They cheat the system to get British tv and buy British newspapers and magazines. Buy their shopping online from stores such as M&S. If there is enough of them in the area there is soon a pub called something like The Flying Scotsman or The Rovers which have karaoke and cheap booze. Before long there is a greasy spoon cafe selling full English breakfasts and fish and chips.
There are similar British enclaves in many other countries and we aren't alone in this.

/// Having the Pakistani flag flying for 30 minutes is really not a big deal, they were after all kind enough to fly ours for around a 100 years. ///
There was no such country called Pakistan 100 years ago.
And don't forget India was under British rule, so why shouldn't we fly our flag, with their permission or not? But I don't think that we are under Pakistani rule just yet.

The flying of the Pakistani Flag on Rochdale Town Hall for 30 minutes was harmless.
But it does smack of tokenism. It was there just long enough for the local MP to have his photograph taken beneath it, then it was quickly removed.
That isn't really being cohesive or inclusive of all the community, it is a cynical sop.
