Thatcher's Perverts...
Sir Keith Joseph, Rhodes Boyson, and Leon Brittan, were all close colleagues of Thatcher. Time, as we know, has not been kind to their reputations.
Another was was clearly deemed, "one of us", was the late unlamented, Jimmy Savile.
Was Thatcher particularly unlucky in attracting such odious people or was it that high-powered jobs for Tories enhanced their sense of invulnerability so that they could continue to display the insolence of office?

If this is a thread about child exploitation then there are other names from Labour, Liberals and Tories that could be mentioned too, who were friends with Blair, Steel, Callaghan and Major

Okay, I've just found an old Mail article from last year that says Barbara Castle was once given a list of names of around 50 (I think) MPs/politicians who were linked to sex rings/paedophilia and this list included Joesph, Rhodes Boyson and Brittan. I'm not sure whether there was any substance - let's hope the enquiry finds out. But maybe that list was drawn up at the time Thatcher was in power so it was too soon to include Blairites, Majorites, Brownites or Cameronites. I am sure the list included others such as Cyril Smith, Grenville Jenner and others from other parties too.
I have a feeling quite a few well known very senior politicians will eventually get named and there will be some shocks

If - and so far it is if - there is any evidence linking these men to criminal activities, then I would be inclined to the latter view sandy.
I think the arrogance needed to be a Tory minister, coupled with the unassailable personal arrogance that flavoured all these people, meant that they really did believe they could behave as they wished, without consequences, because experience taught them that this was so.
