By the way, calvados is just saying what I and many others are saying. The fact that I agree with him is neither here nor there. He is talking common sense because what he is saying is self-evident. But I don't expect you to agree with me, as you rarely do !
UKIP may take some votes and candidates from the Labour Party but the majority of their current support and personnel are ex-Tories, as seen from Tonyav's post above. The Leader and the two existing UKIP MP's are all ex-Tory.

I am not aware what was silly about what calvados said Naomi. Perhaps you can explain what was silly ?
UKIP was born from the far right of the Tory Party, and it is counter-intuitive to expect that many Labour supports will switch from a left wing Party, to UKIP.
Some will, of course, as I have admitted earlier today but the natural UKIP supporters will be disaffected Tories, as had been seen in the election recently of their only 2 MPs.....both ex-Tories. UKIP have yet to elect any ex-Labour MPs, unless they have done that without us knowing !

Mikey will always promote himself 0n his lofty soapbox.He will adjudge his wisdom of Solomon on all those on Answerbank.He has taken upon himself to award the title of "a voice of common sense" to all those who agree with his views.God forbid you should disagree with him.You will be adjudged "daft"If you happen to be American you will also be adjudged as daft because this well travelled Mikey does not happen to agree with the way the citizens of the USA conduct their affairs in their own country.Who does he think he can judge others with some sense of authority?Poor man residing in his caravan in Cornwall with his dog as a sole companion for I doubt if there would be a long suffering Mrs Mikey.This is a man by his own admission will bribe people to engage in conversation with him with buying them a pint of beer(Earlier post when Mikey visits North Wales).I am sure the Cornish men cannot wait for the sage from Wales to share his Lidl chocolate licquers with them in his little caravan.This man is a bigot and will label anyone who disagrees with him as daft ,or in my case ,a Troll.No doubt this sad little lonely man will go running to Auntie to have this post removed.

I've said it before and I will say it again. Living in Labour heartlands I know just how right-wing many ordinary Labour voters are. A sizeable number are of the "hang 'em, flog 'em and send 'em back brigade" so it is not surprising that many are attracted to UKIP which does not carry the historical taint of being anti-working class like the Tories.
