How can they possibly know for certain at their age? They are nowhere near puberty yet. The whole thing is ridiculous.

At some point, the fact that gender is about more than what's inside your pants will become obvious enough that no-one will care.

TTT, so what is your solution when an 8 year old insists that he or she is feeling like they are in the body of the opposite sex, ignore it and hope it goes away or support the child and possibly work with an expert to see what guidance is needed, if any.

what happenned up to now? why has this suddenly become another syndrome? When I was a kid no such thing happenned, so what changed? I think we know, attention seeking parent amplifying normal behaviour. Little jonny picks up doll, sudennly he's in the wrong body, attention seeking parent takes it on board ...escalate...publicise....repeat....etc!
gawd help us, what next? we are talking about < 10 year old kids.
