This lady is Deputy Chairman of the party & has come across as
a very accomplished politician.

When I compare her with the quality of lots of the candidates
in the election she should be a top notch addition to Parliament.

However able, she is unlikely to be elected because of her connection
to UKIP. Why can't we just chose people based on their ability?

Our loss.

Her geography isn't very good. On Question Time recently she stated that Ukraine was not in Europe (!)
Also she seems to think that her party's manifesto is viable despite the fact that their plans for spending and immigration control depend on factors outside their control: namely Britain leaving the EU in a referendum.
So maybe no great loss if not elected
I agree.I was watching a News channel earlier.May of been Sky or BBC 24 news(though I doubt that Labour Trumpet) said that Farrage's manifesto as disclosed earlier at a meeting in Essex was well thought out and made a lot of people have food for thought.Apparently his costing was spot on and could not be faulted by sensible thinking people.Hope I get to hear what was said later as the TV was muted and I relied on poor sub titles. For all his criticism I have long felt he puts his point across well.
Won't be voting for him but I wish he was PM and Cameron his coalition partner.Never happen.

I thought she dealt with the interrogation from Adam Boulton
on Sky this evening very impressively.

When I think of some of the 'airheads' who have party support and
will be our representatives I despair.
Why not, retro, if you wish he were P.M.? If UKIP have a voice and Cameron is PM then surely it is worth a vote - unless you are in a sure-fire constituency for someone else. Not being difficult, just curious and I'll be off-line for a few hours now anyway. She was impressive. :)
She probably meant that Ukaine is not in the EU which thankfully (for the moment anyway) it isn't.

Most parties' spending plans depend on factors outside their control, Ichkeria. That's why astute voters give them the credance they deserve (i.e. next to nothing).
Good point, NJ, Europe being frequently used as an inaccurate synonym for the EU.
No she didn't mean that at all New Judge. She said we should not bother what happens to Ukraine as it is not even in Europe. Nothing to do with the EU
She came across as a vile bigoted ignorant person and it says little for UKIP generally that just because she talks a good fantasy manifesto and is a bit feisty generally that that makes her one of the more plausible ones
More importantly than what she thinks about Ukraine though you can't brush aside the fact that she seems to be taking for granted that Britain will leave the EU. That is a factor far more outside UKIP's control than anything in any of the other parties manifestos (even the Greens) and I find it staggering that they have not been picked up on it. 'When we leave the EU' (!)
I don't think in any case that UKIP politicians refer to the EU as being 'in Europe' given that they affect to despise it (perhaps rather ungratefully given that institution provides them with their raison d'être not to mention much of their funding it would seem) lol

In another place and time you could be talking about Hillary Clinton!
Hillary Clinton in UKIP? That would indeed be an alternative universe
" She came across as a vile bigoted ignorant person "

mmmm....bit strong that ochkeria !
I'm sure she'd speak very highly of you if she could read your posts on here.

I'll be voting UKIP as will my Jamaican next door neighbour.

Alex99 so will a lot of people (voting UKIP) and will keep it to themselves. They are one of the only parties who have not stooped to cheap jibes about other political parties and this constant negative reporting by journalists of both left and right persuasion will only endear them to a certain faction of the voting public that do not normally bother to vote. The EU is hugely unpopular with 'joe public' who know little of the economic implication of withdrawing from the E.U but are sick of free for all immigration and huge payments we have to cough up for the "third world" type members such as Greece and Romania. The UKIP vote is not a wasted vote!

Good for her. Luckily for me and the country though I am not standing for parliament.
UKIP cannot deliver British exit from the EU: only the British people can do that in a referendum. Everyone seemed to forget that yesterday.
Most polls show a majority in favouring of staying in, perhaps surprisingly. Then again, there is a constituency outside Answerbank :-)
Actually that is not strictly true, Ichkeria.

There is nothing to prevent a government passing legislation to see the UK's witdrawal from the EU. Nothing in statute suggests that it can only be done following a favourable referendum. As with all other legislation, it does not even have to be included in a party's manifesto (history is littered with legislation about which the electorate knew nothing of the proposals until a bill is introduced in the Commons. The most recent I can think of is the same-sex Marriage Act). Parliament is supreme is such matters and all that is needed is for the measure to pass successfully through the Commons and Lords.

I accept that no party capable of forming a government is remotely likely to introduce such a measure, but there is nothing technically to prevent it (unless anyone can point me to something which contradicts this !).
//Most polls show a majority in favouring of staying in//

That depends upon which poll you want to believe.

According to the FT yesterday the vote is about evenly split.
