Boycott Pepsi Drinks- Disgraceful Behaviour Aspartme Banned In American Drinks But Not Here
41 Answers
I am outraged angry furious and very upset that America is removing aspartme drinks from its pepsi and diet pepsi drinks but Britain are refusing to do it as it is a commercial decision. Aspartme is a dangerous additive with lots of health risks and pepsi schweppes in the UK are more interested in profit. I will never drink another pepsi drink

Regardless of whether this particular sweetener is good, bad, or indifferent; I can see justification in the outrage, that a company should make a decision that one country's people are valued enough to make a change whilst one's own country's population are not worthy of the same consideration. Such decisions should be globally applied; national & local laws allowing.
OG, you can't say that "regardless of whether it's good or bad". If it's good, then companies should be free to produce whatever sells best locally. If Americans have no liking for aspartame and Brits do, then it makes perfect commercial sense to appeal to local taste by adapting your recipe.
As I recall, Coke's always made a thing about tasting the same absolutely everywhere. But that's also a commercial decision, and not one everybody must follow.

I know no one who likes the taste of aspartame so much they'd object to foodstuffs without it. So I'm unsure that applies. However as witnessed by this thread there is clearly the same controversy here as there. Disrespecting a nation by treating them differently without just cause, is still not a good thing though. I think my nation gets this sort of thing happen too often, but maybe I'm just more alert to such insulting behaviour directed here than towards other countries.
