Election Leaflet Lies
64 Answers
We have had an Election leaflet from the local Labour candidate which contains a blatant lie and we can prove it. We had an unsatisfactory answer from the party Office in the nearby town but it pointed at well out of date figures. We have the latest figures and they now haven't replied. What can we do in such circumstances? Is there any redress? Electoral Commssion!!

So before an election they'll say they plan to give everyone in the country a block of solid gold the size of a brick, and a pet unicorn when they're in office.
Afterwards they'll make the difficult decision to alter what they intended to do in light of the new information that's come to their attention that there isn't that much gold in the world, and unicorns don't exist.

I can remember Gordon Brown breaking his own rules on borrowing before the Financial Crash. There was no need. They just bloated the State, therefore creating a client state, same with Immigration. Remember Mandleson saying they were trawling Europe? The only thing they have admitted to and apologised for Not regulating the banks properly. The FSA allowed (or acquiesced) on HBOS taking over ABN AMBRO. TOXIC!!!!!

In addition as this thread is about the local Labour candidates leaflet being full of bike and lies. In contrast the Conservative candidate's leaflet did not make any comment about Labour. He just explained his vision for the future He is a decent man and a popular MP. There were no Expenses scandal involving him and I wish him well. To me, that's been the whole theme of this election campaign.
Linda,
Sorry to catch you out on another lie, but Brown and Darling did not abandon the Golden Rule BEFORE the crash. The borrowing rule was abandoned AFTER the crash in 2009 as a direct way of stimulating the Economy during the recession. the increase borrowing was a response to the Global downturn, it did not pre-date it.

Would you stop calling me a liar Gromit. Just because there was a typo In a recent post and I got someone's name wrong you called me a liar then.
Brown ran a deficit during the good years to fund his vanity projects. And don't Forget PFI which kept billions off the books. He followed Tory spending rules for the first couple of years then went bonkers throwing money at welfare.
