Mr T will. I won't.
I was thinking of it. May work in my favour too as I have plenty of work to do and not much time in which to do it so I can fill in the boring bits.
I haven't been to bed on election night since about 1979, and was only because I had to go to school the next day, though 1987 was so depressing I felt like it

It's quite easy really, If you get as excited about these things as I do you just do it :-)
There was a brilliant documentary the other night on BBC4 about 60 years of Election Night programmes which included the extraordinary bit in 1964 where Richard Dimbleby invites the viewers to take a look at "the pretty young female staff in our studio" or something like that, as the camera pans around, and then someone rings in to say they've seen a mouse running across the top of the State of the Parties board (!)
But I digress
of course all of TGL's results where wonderful I'd have to say the only one I actually stayed up for was JM in 1992, after Kinnochio's "victory" rally the day before I just knew the public would deliver a slap down, I was not dissapointed. I doubt I'll be up this time as I'm going out Thursday night for a light ale so probably won't be about!
If I didn't have to work the next day I might try to stay up all night. I have done before. When I was about 18 I think - a long time ago. I'm a late bed-goer anyway, so not too difficult to stretch it out for a few more hours. An extra couple of drinks might keep me there.
TTT you mean you missed the great woman herself hanging out of a window in Smith Square, with Normo Tebbs and the rest of the aging Politburo, going on about the "inner cities" while Normo looks on adoringly (and slightly pie-eyed imo) saying "*** the inner cities for now lets party" - or words to that effect.
That was 1987.

Now 1997 on the other hand :-)
i'll be too scared of the boogie men ( labour/SNP) to sleep anyway
well that was the next morning ichkeria.
About 4 in the morning as I recall :-)
No, I wouldn't. Because my party will not win and I know that. I am voting BNP again this year.
Aye, we have a street party arranged ,it's the lenghth of the A9 and also most other roads as well.
Should be swell
Alba gu brath
I'll be at The Grill in Newtonmore about 2 on Friday, steg. Just Irn Bru for me, I'm driving. :-)
would holding a street party along the A9 be symbolic of what the SNP government could have achieved before now, if they hadn't wasted millions of their transport budget on the Edinburgh tram system?

:-)
"Mr T will. I won't."

I pity the fool, who doesn't stay up all night on May 7th.
Mind and wear your party hat Dougy
slainte
I have watched an election all night in the past but only because I was on a different time zone and it wasn`t night (and I had nothing else to do). I find it easy to stay up all night when I`m working so I wouldn`t have a problem with tiredness but in the case of the election, I would rather be asleep. Watching it won`t make any difference to the result anyway.
Could of achieved ?lol they have a majority government up here and massive support, they have Westminster flapping like headless chickens and look like they are going to have a large amount of mp's in Westminster
Don't worry mushroom, the bullion train heads north in a few days ;)
//Could of (sic) achieved ?//

yes. the business case for the A9 is the 1000 plus accidents that have occurred in the last 5 years, resulting in 67 fatalities. the money spent on the trams could, if spent on the A9, have prevented many of these deaths.
The A9 has been getting prepared for getting done for the last few years it's new rout has been drilled and tested and should be started very soon I would imagine (we got offered part of the fencing job last year)
67 people have died on Edinburgh's trams in the last five years?
!!
