No - that is the standard format - but that does not make it the best.
Children are best raised in a loving family environment where they are given love, security, and support.
That can be a 'standard family set up, but equally it can be one parent of either gender, or two parents of the same and either gender, biologically connected, or not.
The circumstances are individual for each and every situation, each and every child, and no 'standard' model of 'best' applies - just the most frequent - which us often seen as the most suitable, but that does not by any means make it so.

yes indeed. but kids can be cruel beggars, and will mercilessly pick on a contemporary that doesn't conform. whilst society has moved on and the law amended to reflect that, families led by 2 same sex parents are still very much the exception, and the girl in this case will be tormented relentlessly for it. and this isn't a high-profile family like that of dwight and furnish - these 2 guys really will have their work cut out supporting their child.

AOG - //The Mother's problem was that she dared to criticise gays.
Ms Justice Russell said the woman had used "offensive language" including "stereotypical images and descriptions of gay men" and had "insinuated that gay men in same-sex relationships behave in a sexually disinhibited manner" and were "sexually disloyal to each other". //
No - the mother's problem is that she has been deemed as an unfit mother based on the evidence heard by the court.
Her homophobia obviously did not improve her position - but it appears it isis not the root cause of her unsuitability
