Thanet South
Does anyone know what the problem is in Thanet South ? Why is the count taking so long ? If Orkney and Shetland can get theirs in before 01:00 and all the Sunderland and Newcastle seats only took less than 2 hours, why can't this small area of Kent ?
Sky News confirmed that at 06:58 this morning, they hadn't even started counting the votes...the ballot boxes were still sealed !

Under the control of the returning office I think
the ones that do it quickly - for the one day of fame every five years
do it by volunteers. They all agree that it is useful to be mentioned once every five years rather than have Little Scrogbourough never mentioned except in the question - " Litlle Where-borough ? "

The explanation from the local paper..."The Parliamentary count for Thanet is not expected to start until at least 5am, three hours later than originally planned.
The delay is blamed on a turn out thought to be some 80 per cent, with polling stations reportedly having asked for more ballot boxes during today's vote, meaning the verification process is still taking place."

/// I shall probably regret asking this and it may be stretching you a bit to answer, but exactly where would I go, in my dinghy ? ///
Wouldn't be stretching me at all.
I put "half way across the Med". so the choice is entirely yours, we Tories believe in the freedom of choice, so it is up to you to decide where you would wish to go.
