Cameron makes Grant Shapps the Minister of State at the Department for International Development.

David Cameron's "oldest political friend", Lord Feldman, is the new Conservative Party Chairman and will attend Political Cabinet.

It was Feldman who said The members in Conservative Associations were "all mad, swivel-eyed loons" .
And he is right there Gromit.
Ah I did wonder where he had been shunted to.
And what of Theresa May of the fancy shoes, is she still Foreign Secretary? I have to admit I feel a bit twitchy about all those new young women on board. I prefer to see older, well seasoned politicos.
Theresa May has never been Foreign Secretary.

She has been re-appointed as Home Secretary

Teresa May was, and is, the Home Secretary.
Still Home Secretary, askyourgran, and, sex sells.
I could see her as chief whip
She's a pussycat...........
douglas, are you implying Theresa May is selling sex :-O
Apologies, yes Home Secretary, I rather like her, I thought she was hogtied by the LibDems. I'd rather have experience than sexy/shrieking women in Parliament, we need someone with experience to stand up to the SNP who will be on the warpath now.
^ that didn't read well... I'd rather see experienced ministers in Parliament....
Home Secretary could suggest a visiting service by a woman of a certain age, in heels and with blouse buttons unfastened for the delectation of retired majors with a thing for discipline, OG.
The new culture secretary is a worry.
ichkeria, You don't mean Sally Berkow!
No surprisingly I don't. Is there some joke I am missing here ?
The new culture secretary is far from a worry. End of the licence fee hopefully.

As for Pickles, he probably scoffed too many of the pies at the ministers table, leaving none for everyone else!
The BBC generate a wealth of great content, and in the internet era could generate a great deal of income by charging for that content.

The Licence Fee is looking like a poor way to fund the BBC. Apart from not rewarding success, it also gives Governments and piliticians leverage over the Beeb. The sooner they are freed of the shackles of an ungrateful master, the more the BBC can prosper.
^You think they'll survive/do better without the £4-5 billion a year licence money?
It's be a lot better if they agreed a formula which at present day values gave them a grant of £4-5 billion a year out of general taxation. No licence nonsense, no persecution from the authorities just because you didn't have a TV, no additional costs to tax collection etc.. Either a national TV broadcasting company is worthwhile in terms of giving our country a shop window to show the rest of the world, or it is not. If it is then it should be funded by all.
