When Hitler took over the Nazi Party the world did nothing. When he took over Germany and started invading his neighbours it was already too late to avoid another global conflagration that cost millions of lives and led to the genesis of nuclear weapons.
To all intents and purposes the rest of the world is standing by and watching this cancer of the Human intellect gain ever more momentum.
At what point, assuming our leaders may have learned a thing or two about how History endlessly repeats itself, are the rest of the world going to wake up and go to war against them? The earlier they do the less lives will be lost. IMHO it needs to be really soon.
If it does come to a world war, or equivalent, ISIS will certainly lose, or at least be reduced to common-or-garden terrorists rather than an actual state. All that requires is for ISIS to over-reach itself or for the world to come together and realise that it has to commit to tackling the threat properly. Air strikes are having some impact but apparently not...
The problem for IS is that though they gain territory, because they cannot win the hearts and minds within it and have to destroy everything in their doing so, they is nothing remaining for them to rule over. Constant warfare is not sustainable, history shows us that.
Sirprize – You should update your information about Bin Laden. He was in Pakistan and Americans were aware of it as they were the ones who kept him there. Pakistani authorities were aware too but they kept quiet because of the Americans pressure. Type “Seymour Hersh” in google and se what comes up.
Tonyav – Taliban (I am talking about Afghan and not Pakistani Taliban) are the same people who fought against Russia and we all know that they were hailed as Mujahids and Heroes then by America and Co. And now same Americans are trying their best to have dialogue with the same people once again. Why? Are they not terrorists anymore?
As for ISIS, I have no doubt that they are CIA and Mossad agents. Otherwise answer my question. Why do they not attack Israel or any Western interest in Syria or Iraq?
And finally do not expect me to come and answer any more questions here as I have a simple principle that I do not follow any thread that has gone of main page. Because unlike a few others I do not get paid for posting here.

You do when it suits you - but when it doesn't that's a convenient way off the hook.
Tell the truth keyplus, it's nothing to do with your principles, you won't answer any more questions because you simply don't have any relevant answers.
The most likely reason IS don't attack Israel is that it would be suicide. Even if that was not enough to put them off for now it would also serve to give NATO esp. US and UK hawks more grounds for stepping up the military response to IS, which in turn might alarm Putin sufficiently to send his army to support his ally Assad in Syria.
My OP asked if IS could start another World War? Who would have thought a student assassin could have set in motion a chain of events that led to the start of the first world war, yet he did. IS cannot wage a world war and ever hope to win. It could still cause one because the destabilisation their activities cause in strategically sensitive parts of the world could cause escalation to global levels as world powers pile in on opposing sides.
