That had occurred to me a while back, Samuraisan. All those men fleeing to countries that don't want them. Why don't they fight for their own country?

I think this is going to become an ever growing problem across Europe, particularly for Greece and Italy but ultimately all of us. Sending out huge navy vessels may help those that are in danger but only makes it more likely tens of thousands more will follow the same path

dover could indeed turn into another Kos, but it's not within our power to prevent it if the french renege on the "Le Touquet Agreement".

I wonder I wonder fender........ Not too many coming here to Spain though, I believe they get sent back and they certainly wouldn't get any benefits or free housing. To get benefits here you have to have contributed , and then it is limited depending on how long you have worked.

Isn't there lots make it to the Canary Islands and they're shipped to mainland Spain?

I am not entirely sure how many make it to The Canaries, but I have read they feed and clothe them then send them back. I am sure some get through, and land on the costas illegally, and I believe they work in agriculture and so on. What I am thinking is they wouldn't make a bee-line to go to Spain as they will have to work.
