Are France & Germany sending their troops also, not to mention the Arab countries?

And why do foreign troops always have to be trained by the 'dreaded West'?

Iran was the first country to send troops into the region. They have a ground force there supported by air strikes and drones.

Late last year, Australia got involved, sending their air force on strikes in the region.

Canada, Holland, France and Jordan have also led strikes (more about Jornand at the end of this post. With France it was air strikes, deployment of fighter planes to Jordan, and a support aircraft carrier in the Persian Gulf.

Egypt began conducting airstrikes on ISIL targets in Libya on in February.

Libya also struck targets in Derna, reportedly in coordination with Egypt's airstrikes in February.

Bahrain, Jordan, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, and the United Arab Emirates began airstrikes against ISIL targets in Syria last year. I don't know the current status of the operations they're undertaking.

Finally, King Abdullah II temporarily lead the bombing raids on ISIL earlier this year, after a Jordanian pilot was murdered by ISIL. He claimed that their airstrikes had killed 7,000 militants in Iraq and Syria, and also reportedly "degraded 20% of the militant group's capability".

Pinch of salt time.
Oh, and the Kurds.

I forgot the Kurds.

They've been crossing over the borders of Iraq and Syria to fight ISIL with local Kurdish tribes.

i hope that is only a pinch of salt you are taking, because I wasn't referring to air strikes of which we are also carrying out, but 'boots on the ground'.

Hey,hey. I think your luck's in there^, Sp. ;-)
Wasn't it directed at AOG?
Mrs AOG won't be best pleased.
Don't know about "boots on the ground". Looks like "boots under the bed"!!
Careful it could be a Honey Trap. Remember "Tokyo Rose" :-)
Poor Rose

I don't know if it's me or AOG she's referring to, but AOG is a happily married man and...well...

Rose, if with me, you're not so much barking up the wrong tree...you're actually in the wrong forest.
I e-mailed her, just out of curiosity

//just out of curiosity // Of Course. They do not need any more middle aged Escorts in Belfast. You trying to muscle in on that Lothario's pitch :-)
The mature gigolo mentioned in the lists of AB the other day was a professional. I'd be happy to offer the young lady my services for free. ☺
Sorry to digress but this thread is a typical example of what happens when an answer is removed. The thread has been lost and the answers following are not making sense because of the removal.

Because we & the Americans & the West in general are the main targets of IS & their twisted ideology & should be stopped ASAP. I personally would welcome a Western Alliance of troops to descend upon them like a plague of Locusts, but who would command such an army ?

I'll explain - it was a spam post by a young lady called Rose (allegedly), seeking the companionship of a gentleman, with the promise of etc etc etc...

To my knowledge, it's the first time it's ever happened in the news section, and gave a brief diversion from the topic in hand.

Normal service is now resumed.
Sorry to diverge again, but at long last (after watching an excellent documentary about Jane Brown), I now know who sandyRoe's avatar picture is!
I think the Middle East has been destabilised beyond repair by removing certain dictators (yes I know it sounds crazy). But they did keep everyone in check even if the West didn't like it. Now Isis are probing deeper into other countries and even Europe by hitching on the backs of migrants, the next few years will be scary. You can't stop a madman with a rucksack by launching cruise missles so I am at a loss as to what the solution is.
Or more specifically, why after the Commons specifically voted against this, is Cameron ignoring Parliament and following the American's yet again into another no-win adventure?
