If I remember rightly England were favourites to get the 2018 World Cup and then there was a Panorama program about the corruption going on within FIFA a week before the announcement was made, and then Russia got the vote.
If the Russians are involved in any scandal then Blatter will probably die of a mystery illness before he spills the beans on any wrongdoings

"If I remember rightly England were favourites to get the 2018 World Cup and then there was a Panorama program about the corruption going on within FIFA a week before the announcement was made, and then Russia got the vote.
"
England, of course, voted for Russia in the second round of voting, not that I am suggesting they were bribed to do so of course
I am sure I remember around the time of this vote a lot of people on AB complaining about the BBC for endangering England's chances of getting the nod from FIFA< and I believe some government ministers and maybe even some people here, were muttering about the "lack of patriotism" of the press and the BBC.
In fact what about this quote from a World Leader on meeting Blatter in 2011
"Mr President, you have done a huge amount for football during your whole life. The decisions you have made have been instrumental in taking the game to new heights"
The words of D. Cameron
