God bless America for giving Donald and his opinions on Mexicans (bringing drugs, rape and crime to the U.S.) and John McCain, who is not a war hero apparently...coz he got captured.

Our boy Nigel is a bit of an amateur compared to Donnie, but do you see any confluence?

One of the main differences is that Donald Trump might actually win himself.
Breath of fresh air. Like Nigel, tells it like it is uncowed by political correctness.
And, indeed, Jeremy Corbyn.
His Trumpness is a right wing extremist with loads of dosh
Nigel Farage by comparison is a leftie who likes a drink.
Apart from that they are identical :-)

To be fair ichkeria, Farage is loaded too.

jim360 - part of me actually wants Trump to win.

A very small, stupid part of me.
That'll be your head, sp. ;)
Trump's comments about Senator John McCain were disgraceful. Remember, Trump and McCain are supposed to be on the same side. There are signs that the comment largely backfired, with his own draft dodging while McCain was being tortured being widely publicised.

Farage being asked if he was like Donald Trump is an easy question for an American journalist tey to workout what pigeon hole to put him into. There isn't really much to the comparison other than Trump will also fail.
Fail? You must be mixing him up with Ed Miliband or Clegg.
It's all onwards and upwards for Farage.

I think Gromit's 'fail' reference was alluding to the number of times that Farage as stood as an MP and umm...'consistently avoided the embarrassment of garnering the most votes'.
We shall see, won't we. Anyway, it's debatable whether he 'garnered' most votes in S Thanet. Labour are obviously finished. Another 5 years of this lot should see a massive rise in the UKIP vote.
You think Trump "tells it like it is", Svejk? You agree that building a giant wall on the southern border of the United States is a sane, well-balanced and reasonable policy?
Don't expect Donald Trump turns his back on the American anthem as Nigel does at the E.U.
Maybe Trump will pay to put an electrified wall around S. Thanet.....
Trump is in good company denigrating a war hero. Didn't GW, who risked nothing more dangerous that seasickness during his service in the coast guard, belittle an opponent who had given heroic service in Vietnam?
I remember seeing Donald Trump on tv in the US stating that the Chinese are the "enemy" and now here on US tv today, one of his henchmen is trying to back peddle after saying that its not possible for a man to rape his wife. Donald should have no trouble if he wants to start WW III
Trump and Farage only have two things in common.

They are both wassocks ad that they are very unlikely ever to hold power.
Well they both obviously strike a chord if all you can do is name call.

And this from a labour suppoter. Labour who?

"Another 5 years of this lot should see a massive rise in the UKIP vote".

I can't seen the whole country turning to two right wing parties (well, once 'centre right' and the other 'right').

Labour may well be out in the wilderness if they pick the wrong leader (Jeremy's actually my local MP), but I can't see a massive rise in UKIP support. The real test will come with the referendum on Europe.

Either way, UKIP are in trouble. If we vote to leave the EU, then what would be the point of UKIP?

If we vote to stay in the EU, then what would be the point of UKIP?

But back to Trump - there's a theory being put forward that he's merely a stooge - get people terrified, and then wheel out a modern republican candidate.

Perhaps that's a conspiracy theory too far...
After the combined forces contrive to make sure the UK vote to stay in the EU, then UKIP will be finished as a political force.

And if the referendum results in a vote to leave, UKIP will have nothing to campaign for, and will be finished as a political force.

Trump, despite his vulgar TV personality, will not get nominated.
