So if they didn't vote, I am unsure why we are wasting public money here ?

dave is trying to recruit even more dead wood to the HOL...will this madness never end ?

'The report - entitled House of Lords: Fact vs Fiction - also found that 10 peers were responsible for claiming £260,000 of the £360,000 from 2010-2015.'

So,that's £100 a week for each of the 10 peers. Nice to get some perspective from the facts.
And of the remaining 52 peers £7.40 a week each. Wow. Sling em in the Tower.
Scrap the lot of them and start again.
I wonder what the "other duties" are exactly?

Snoozing I expect jno !

There is one aspect about all this that I don't understand. Despite the much needed reform of the HOL that was started by the Labour Government, there now appears to be more member there, then there are in the HOC, and dave is proposing to included even more !

Why is it deemed necessary that there should be more Lords than Member of Parliament ? Is the tail wagging the dog here ?

The Tories, according to this wiki article Bouncer ::::

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/House_of_Lords

But its not the point. There are far too many of them, no matter which flag they fly. There are even 26 Bishops there, although if someone could explain what gives them any right to serve in a legislature, I would be interested to know.
Party/group

Bishops 0
Conservative 178
Crossbench 149
Labour 208
Liberal Democrat 97
Non-affiliated 20
Other 16
Total 668

Thats House of commons Bouncer

Do try to keep up
Lol.
Bouncer, if you look at mickeys link, the pretty coloured bit on the right near the beginning you will see the figures, which are more up to date than mine and not as far-fetched as yours!

HM Government . .Conservative Party (226)
HM Opposition . . . Labour Party (212)

Thanks emeritus, and Ha Ha!
You can get your crayons out and copy it, bouncer. But make sure you tidy them up after.
Maybe we should just abolish the House of Lords, as advised by those two great Labour statesmen, err, Baron Prescott and, oh come on, Baron Kinnock.
They snooze... we lose.

Oh, look! One of them woke up because it was their birthday.
