Do you agree with the Court Judge who stated that it should not be seen as a 'punishment'?

Ah Methyl once they have gone and learned a bit of bomb and mayhem making they came back pretending to be sorry and are then let lose back into society....
Let her go, but she will have no chance of coming back, that's if she lives that long.
I support any initiave to get radicals to leave UK and not come back

London no danger - Syria - danger - get em, all there baby !
and even if they are deradicalised on the spot - you dont have to worry about them .....

and Calais - have you heard them ? - swathed in god knows what a little voice bleats: I am hoot moozleem and I wanna be hoot moozleem in Landan where eat is freeeee .....
She would have a right to travel with a passport
so is deprivation of that right - a punnishment ?

no if the rights of others are protected more ( beneficient principle )
In time she might come to thank the judge for saving her from herself. But if she was determined she could borrow travel documents from a sister in faith. Wearing a burkha would help.
I agree it should not be seen as a punishment. However, if gets her passport back for an approved trip, what's to stop her buying a ticket to Syria once she gets to the airport?
// what's to stop her buying a ticket to Syria once she gets to the airport?//

the judge shrugs his shoulders and says' that's life ! - interesting but short!' ?

the judge shrugs shis shoulders and says: " a girl's gotta do what a girls gotta do ! " ?
I do agree it isn't a punishment. It's doing what one can to protect someone potentially doing themselves harm. If the young lady had no intention of doing something stupid I can understand she would see it as an infringement of her personal rights, but hope she'll understand society has to find a balance between personal rights and society's responsibilities to each citizen.
So for consistency are all young Muslims to surrender passports now ?
/// Her father told him through an interpreter she was expecting her GCSE results this week, and among the A-level subjects she was to begin were English and history, as well as sociology and possibly Bengali. ///

She is studying English is she?

Maybe she should consider taking her father along to the lessons, perhaps then in the future it would save the British tax payer paying for the services of an interpreter for him?
Her father needs to be informed, AOG, in a language he can 100% understand.

Would you trust her to translate?
Remove the whole families passports, once we have put them on a one ay ticket to their paradise.

These are not the sort of people we want in our midst. There are plenty at Calais that speak English and are willing to work hard to be British. Lets do some swapsies.

Are they not? This is the judge's view of the family.
“This is a strong family unit, which cares for each other and puts great priority on personal accomplishment and academic achievement.”
ummmm

/// Her father needs to be informed, AOG, in a language he can 100% understand. ///

/// Would you trust her to translate? ///

Who said anything about his daughter teaching him, or even translating for him?

Read what I actually said:

*** Maybe she should consider taking her father along to the lessons. ***
Whatever.
I doubt it will change her attitude.

This is the usual Kow Towing, we have come to expect from some, he also said:

*** “he had found the girl to be a very impressive young woman: intelligent, committed to her family and to both her sisters”. ***

*** “Who knows, one day she might be sitting in this chair – I would like to think she could. ***

/// I doubt it will change her attitude. ///

If you were referring to ummmm naomi24, then perhaps not.
AOG, I wasn't referring to ummmm.
