Just thought it might be of interest.
You dont see them in that much of a hurry to payout on a horse race - I`d titter a bit if they got it wrong
corbyn was initially quoted at 100/1 by paddypower, i can only assume that the oddsmaker has been sacked

We shall see.

Polly Toynbee? She is what's wrong with the Labour Party.
Good for a laugh, at times, if you don't support them.
Personally I'll be happy for the labour party to return to it's roots and stop being closet Tories simply to win Middle England over and get a majority.

It's simple for Corbyn, or the Tory right for that matter, to bring in large crowds of joyous supporters, but those supporters do not win you an election. It is the silent middle that do. Mondeo man White van man etc, but then we know what labour really thin of them don't we?
>>Personally I'll be happy for the labour party to return to it's roots and stop being closet Tories

But maybe Labour's time has run out and the world has "moved on" and most people ARE closet Tories.

After all, who wants to go back to the bad old days when Labour were in power in the 70s - strikes, strikes and more strikes.

Idiots like "red Robbo" at British Leyland, who brought his men out on strike if somebody sneezed near them. I hope they are happy they managed to destroy the company and put it out of business.

Some of us are old enough to remember the "winter of discontnet" under Labour.

Sorry, but the world has moved on and don't want or need Labour any more, the Scottish certainly don't.
//and most people ARE closet Tories. //

I agree, which is why I am happy for labour to go back to their roots.

I do remember the winter of discontent - and I had relatives that worked (I use the term loosely ) for British Leyland.

As for the Scottish, surely they are voting for a more left wing party than labour, or certainly as labour was at the time.

Where have the usual suspects gone?

Yesterday I got lambasted for daring to post just a link.

Not criticising you of course Svejk, everyone should be able to contribute to this site in whichever way they feel, just as long as it doesn't break Site Rules.
@AOG

I wondered if you were going to make a comparison! Valid point fairly made.

I was going to lay 1/100 that you would comment ;)

I noticed, AOG. And then lambasted for asking a question this morning.

I tried to point out that anomaly but had my answer removed.
What can you say/do, eh?
Svejk - "And then lambasted for asking a question this morning..."

What was the 'lambasting'? I only saw one post referring to AOG's OP, asking why he didn't offer an opinion - hardly 'lambasting' was it - not by the perameters of this site!

Maybe the usual suspects read my post, felt a bit guilty.
And then deleted it.
Svejk - "Maybe the usual suspects read my post, felt a bit guilty.

I have no idea, I didn't see it, so can't comment.
andy-hughes

I see you have made no mention on your yesterday comments?
Thanks agchristie.

There is so much hypocrisy on this site.
AOG - "andy-hughes

I see you have made no mention on your yesterday comments?"

Like yourself I posted at length on a number of threads- may I ask you to be a little more specific?
