Is it at all possible that probably the next leader of the Labour Party could in fact had forgotten meeting Dyab Abou Jahjah?
/// Mr Corbyn, 66, tonight finally admitted that he had met the Islamist radical. He said: 'My staff have researched this and it appears I did meet this man. ///
It would seem that he is not on his own though.
Tony Blair cuddled up to Gaddafi.

And Jack Straw shook the hand of President Mugabe, but to be fair Jack said "this was a mistake because Mugabe was sittng in a 'DARK' corner".
Lighten up Mr Mugabe.

If you didn't do so much copy and paste which you accuse others of doing, your latest post would have been just this.
/// I find it somewhat ironic that someone who goes in for as much Copy and Paste as you do can be concerned about something 'that takes up thread space'. ///
Three lines, that's all.
Kettle calling etc etc.///
Just following AH's lead AOG, don't normally do it, just want to be sure he can follow the thread.
By the way have you pointed out how much space he wastes to him?
Baldric, I sense we are failing to communicate here.
What is happening is exactly what I hoped we could all avoid, which is spatting pointlessly between ourselves.
I have tried to stop this from happening, if you wish to continue poking and prodding for a reaction, you won't get one here - you may draw AOG into more exchanges, but it's his thread so I have no problem there.
But please remember, the point of this section is News - debate and exchange of views, it's not a one-upmanship contest.
I also offer my best wishes for a speedy recovery and repeat - friends again?

/// I notice that the right on-ers have not replied to my point about M.T. & Pinochet. ///
Sorry about that Ron, I was otherwise engaged.
Now M.T & Pinochet? I don't think she used the recent Labour tactic by first denying that she had met him, and then having to admit later that she did, or the more distant Jack Straw excuse that he couldn't see who he was shaking hands with, because Mr Mugabe was sitting in a dark corner.
You just couldn't make it up, but wait a minute they actually tried to.

Hurrah! Back on track!
I think the spin that is being put on this situation is that Mr Corbyn was dissembling when he said he did not know who Mr Jahjah.
In fact - as been proved, he would gain absolutely nothing from lying, since like any MP, his meetings are subject to record.
I am inclined to believe that he simply forgot that he had met the gentleman concerned, and as Sandy points out, meeting someone is not the same as endorsing their views.
