I haven't checked the facts but as I see it this is the situation: - The Met Office (funded by the taxpayer) provides weather forecasts. - The BBC (funded essentially by taxpayers albeit in a slightly different way) needs weather forecasts. - The Met Office loses the "contract" to provide forecasts to the BBC - The Met Office continues to be funded...
Also a fan of Carol Kirkwood. If we lose her, might actually look at the maps and remember something. Joking aside, this is appaling, the whole damn country will be run on a shoestring eventually.
They don't need to employ or hire a weather company, they could just look on the internet, and do we really need to be told the weather forecast every 15/30 minutes?
