To Be A Judge, Have You To Prove You Are Stupid?
I have heard some ridiculous excuses, from people denying they committed a crime in court, but this one beats the lot.
He booked the hotel room, had a condom with him, but he said the 13yr old egged him on.
And before he went home, he prayed at his Mosque, so that's OK then!

^^ Yes that's right an independent school can only be inspected if they actually ask for an inspection !!!. As long as they get no funding from public money they can teach anything they want and make any rules they want. OFSTEAD can't even visit unless they are asked.

Doesn't this teaching of disrespect bring into question the legitimacy of both the teaching establishment and of what seems to be abusive parenting ? Surely the former needs investigation as to whether it should be closed. And maybe the rapist taken into care until they attain a morally decent attitude to others ?
Douglas...you do know that paedophiles are attracted to prepubescent children?
O_G...absolutely. It rather sounds like nurture not nature and that really isn't good! It's shocking that these men are brought into the world by women, raised and cared for by women and yet they are taught they are worthless.

It looks like the Judge didn't look up the word Madrassa, or couldn't be bothered.
From Google:
A madrassa is an Islamic religious school. Many of the Taliban were educated in Saudi-financed madrassas in Pakistan that teach Wahhabism, a particularly austere and rigid form of Islam which is rooted in Saudi Arabia. Around the world, Saudi wealth and charities contributed to an explosive growth of madrassas during the Afghan jihad against the Soviets. During that war (1979-1989), a new kind of madrassa emerged in the Pakistan-Afghanistan region -- not so much concerned about scholarship as making war on infidels. The enemy then was the Soviet Union, today it's America. Here are analyses of the madrassas from interviews with Vali Nasr, an authority on Islamic fundamentalism, and Richard Holbrooke, former U.S. ambassador to the U.N. (For more on the role of madrassas in producing militant Islamists, see the story of Haroun Fazul.)

Here it is 'education to strict sharia standards' which means they are taught that women are inferior to men! In Drewsbury
(now where have we heard of that town before?)

I agree ladybirder, how could Ofsted give this school a good mark, even praised when they are taught the opposite of a British school, as stated below.
Ridiculous!
The Institute of Islamic Education in Dewsbury, Yorkshire was praised by the education watchdog even though students live under a strict sharia code, which sees them banned from watching television, listening to the radio, reading newspapers or speaking to the media.
In its latest inspection, Ofsted governors praised the boarding school for its "dedication to Islamic studies" and spoke of how well it prepared its students to cater for the changing needs of British Muslims.

Reading the article I see it was only inspected under the old system in 2008 that system did not look at 'teaching of British values'.
The new system is tougher but I am astounded to read that 'Independent schools can only be inspected by OFSTEAD if they actually ask for an inspection' !
I knew there was some reason it had not been inspected recently.
