Nice to see some Brits actually doing something, rather than just moaning and whining. Of course, the Usual Suspects might not like this as these volunteers look ever so slightly Muslim to me !

If I didn't have to go to work to pay my mortgage, I would like to help out like these kind people.

If giving people food, water, clothing and medical help whilst stranded is called that, then I only wish I were fit and able enough to do it. Maybe I watched a different video.

It doesn't give anything away Ummm ! Mind your own business !
^Lol.
Don't be so rude!!

If you were already giving to the cause you wouldn't have said that OG's suggestion was a good idea...
“The ruddy Hungarians even sprayed them with CS gas !”

I think we’ve done most of this to death, Mikey, but your remark above needs some comment.

Picture the scene: The Mouth of the Channel Tunnel (English end). A thousand or more migrants have overpowered the forces of law and order (such they are) around the tunnel entrance on the French side. They have broken down the fences surrounding the tunnel and have set off on foot through the tunnel. They have been warned not to try to enter the UK. The UK has erected barriers across the tunnel mouths. When they see this the migrants storm the barriers attempting to break them down and force their way into the country. What do the UK authorities do? Faced with an unruly mob attempting to invade the country do they simply invite them in for a chat? Or do they repel them in some way? Imagine if this was at Heathrow and two Jumbos full of migrants were trying to storm through the immigration desks and onto the Piccadilly Line. What do you suggest should be done?

This was the situation facing the Hungarians. It had a mob of people who had no entitlement to enter the country trying to storm their borders. Reasonable force had to be used. If you consider tear gas to be unreasonable I can tell you I was present at Calais port a couple of years ago when a far smaller number of migrants attempted to storm a ferry. It was not a pretty sight. It was only the prompt action of the port workers who raised the ramp that prevented the vessel being illegally boarded. What I witnessed was more than enough to be met with tear gas.

The fact that these people have children with them is unfortunate. But if they choose to act as an unruly mob trying to storm international borders the responsibility for the children’s safety rests with them. Children cannot be used as a “Get Out of Jail Free” card enabling the parents to behave with impunity. The stupidity of Euromaniacs has created a border free Utopian dream on mainland Europe. Now, faced with this invasion, their only concern seems to be how to accommodate the invaders (most of whom are not fleeing war but who simply don’t like it where they are). Their efforts should be confined to helping the likes of Hungary reinforce its external borders which effectively are the borders for countries as far away as Spain.

You will continue to have to work hard to pay your mortgage. You may, of course, had been able to afford an earlier retirement but the needs of foreigners (£11bn pa and rising, plus ongoing costs after many have settled here) have unfortunately overridden the needs of the "ageing population" here in the UK.

All that is very interesting NJ and I'm afraid that we may never agree !

But I posted this as an example of the kind, humanitarian response that some people are capable of, nothing more.
I think you 'had him', there, ummmm.
Well it is more than you or I are doing, but in the grand scheme of things it is a drop in the ocean.

Your stance of 'come one come all' is costing lives by tempting people to make the perilous journey to greener pastures.

Pull the plug in the tunnel?
No I know we'll never agree, Mikey.

But, more relevant to your question, although I don't care too much this situation is terrible for those making the journey. By providing succour for them in the way you describe it will only encourage more people to do the same. This is unsustainable but nobody seems to be making any efforts to make this clear. All we get is ridiculous platitudes that "humanitarian aid" is vital. To enter the EU nearly all of these people are leaving places where they are perfectly safe. The responsibility for their actions is theirs and, regrettable as it is, only by demonstrating that they will be in dire straits if they try to force their way into other countries will word get round that they might just be better off where they are. Placing them in council flats in Bradford is not the answer.
The usual suspects, oh those with a bit of sense who dont agree with you i guess you mean.

NJ could not have put it better. If you cannot see the folly of your views from that then there is no hope for you.

Stop hiding behind the label 'humanitatis' These people are i an illegal mob and many not escaping war.

/// Talbot...point out please, where I have posted "come one, come all" ? ///

Then how many is too many, can you put a figure on how many we should take in?
"If I didn't have to go to work to pay my mortgage, I would like to help out like these kind people."

What about advertising for donations on one of these social media type donation sites or some other kind of sponsorship?
mikey, I have asked you on numerous occasions to give a figure on how many refugees/immigrans we should/could take.

You never give an answer.
