I agree Tony...slum landlords, filling the own pockets from human misery.
Third country Britain.
This is indeed a direct result of the free movement regulations that accompany EU membership –regulations that are becoming increasingly unsustainable by the day.

An officer involved with the case said "Invariably they will have been approached in their home country with offers of attractive salaries working in the UK and agreements are usually made to sacrifice part of their wages in return for accommodation, transport and living expenses.”

“But in a separate operation five Polish nationals have been arrested on suspicion of being part of an organised trafficking gang bringing people from their home country to the West Midlands with false promises of well-paid work.”

If the UK had control of its borders and was able to regulate who came to settle here and who did not this sort of thing would be far less likely to happen. I know it would not be entirely eradicated but to allow uncontrolled access to the country from places such as Poland and Romania is simply asking for trouble, as this incident clearly demonstrates.

It’s no use people being “shocked” and “appalled” by things like this. The country needs to regain control of its borders and regulate who comes here and for what reason. Until then these “shocking and appalling” incidents will prevail. This single incident has cost a tidy sum in police time and costs involved with rehoming many of these people. Some good might come out of it. Those involved my get word back to their compatriots that life is not all milk and honey here in the UK.
That is dreadful, the trouble is there are always people desperate to come here, and people willing for a fee to house them. The landlords don't care how bad a place is, as long as they get their money. The more people they can cram into a house, the more money they pocket.
All the more reason to control who is allowed to settle here and who is not.

NJ...even if we were to "control" immigration, these Bar Steward slum landlords would be filling their houses up with our own homeless people.
