Us Boy, 11, Held For Shooting Dead Eight-Year-Old Neighbour
http:// www.bbc .co.uk/ news/wo rld-us- canada- 3445084 1
How on earth did this young boy get hold of his fathers shotgun ?
Surely there has to be some kind of regulation in America, about guns being stored somewhere safe and out of the hands of children ?
Chilling figures from the Land of the Free ::::: "The Gun Violence Archive, a not-for-profit organisation that compiles data on gun violence in the US, says 559 children aged 11 or under have been killed or injured in the United States in gun violence so far this year"

" - This is the land of the free Mikey, in most states you can walk down the road with 2 six guns in holsters like Wyatt Earp! I don't believe they have any rules about gun storage. You need a permit for a concealed weapon but not for unconcealed.
I was taught to shoot at 7 years old. I was taught safety while handling guns from about the time I could understand speech (the gun is always loaded the horse always kicks that sort of stuff) Never carry an unbroken shotgun while out shooting climbing over gates etc. If this child picked up his dads shotgun i would presume it was a 12 bore and that the gun was loaded and ready to shoot. This is the parents fault this tragedy happened not the fault of the gun - you cannot blame inanimate objects for the stupidity of humans. We kept guns in a cabinet with a chain through mainly because a few were very valuable but still had a rough 12 bore under the bed. I'm not sure about the USA but they have recently RELAXED firearm laws in Canada
It would appear that Massachusetts is the only state to require guns be stored locked. Other states have far more lax requirements. Scroll down the page for a summary.

Plenty of choices for a young girl about town in the land of the free (free to shoot each other).
