The final judgment of the Supreme Court of Cassation is surprisingly short ...

The conclusion of the judgment is that the accusations against Amanda Knox and Raffaele Solecito were so preposterous that it dismisses seven years of legal argument in just 52 pages.
Among the edited highlights, the judgment finds ...
The investigation of the crime scene was "completely inadequate"
The investigation in the days following the murder was also "completely inadequate"
The prosecutor's "sex game" motive is "bunk"
Contrary to the prosecutor's claim, there is "no evidence at all" that Sollecito knew Rudy Guede
The forensic traces were too small to have any value whatsoever.
The computers of the defendants (which could have proved that Amanda and Raffaele were at Raffaele's apartment at the time of the murder) were "trashed by the carelessness of investigators" (yeah, funny that, don't you think ... the computers that could have conclusively proved their innocence were BOTH "accidentally" destroyed at the forensic laboratory
The issues over the time of death issues revealed the "deplorable carelessness" of the prosecutor's investigation
The prosecution's "selective clean up” theory was "ridiculous"
Contrary to the prosecutor's claim, the real time of death was between 9.00pm and 10.13pm (as the defense had always said)
The famous "incriminating" bra clasp has "no evidentiary value" because Investigator Stefanoni wore dirty gloves and contaminated it with multiple DNA
The alleged murder weapon (Raf's kitchen knife) showed no traces of blood. The starch which was found on the knife (!) was of the absorbent kind which would have sopped up blood if it had been there. There was never any blood on the knife
The prosecutor's media hype created the need to pin the crime on someone, and then to try to make evidence to fit
The prosecutor's claim that, when they interrogated Amanda, the Police forgot to turn on ANY of the 3 tape recording machines was "implausible"
Without leaving any trace of their involvement (which they did not), it was "manifestly impossible" for Amanda or Raffaele to have been involved with this crime in any way.
So, bottom line ... the Supreme Court of Cassation essentially say ... Prosecutor Mignini made the whole thing up.
He had no evidence for a prosecution. He ignored the facts. He invented evidence, and imagined ridiculous theories, which he planted with the world's media. When there was clear evidence of innocence, he had it destroyed.
So what now for Mignini? His last (several) cases have all been thrown out. In each and every one of them he has invented Inquisition-style theories of rituals and sex. He has been convicted of abuse of office and professional misconduct.
So, is he in prison? No, guess what ... he's working as a prosecutor in Italy.
If anyone is thinking of going to Italy ... you might want to go somewhere that you're less likely to be mistreated by the authorities. Somewhere like Syria, or Afghanistan.
Actually, I go there quite a lot, coz my BF's parents have a house there. But if an Italian police car tried to stop me for speeding, I'd just drive, and drive, and drive until I was back in Switzerland. It would be like The Italian Job.
Mignini's next innocent victim could be someone you know!
