Last year, the US sent 43 shiny new Toyota Hillux pickup trucks to the 'moderate rebels' in Syria. This was part of a billion Dollar package of help to the 'moderate rebels' which David Cameron wanted us to join, but Parliament refused.

Soon after their delivery, gun mounted shiny new Toyota Hillus Pick up teucks began to appear in ISIS propagands videos.

The suspicion is that much of the US supplies have ended up with ISIS.

Carelessness? accidental? Or Deliberate? You decide.

Another way of asking the same question:

Is Obama (a) incompetent, (b) unlucky, or (c) an Islamic fifth columnist?

Then there is the strange case of the Texas Plumber who sold his Toyota Hillux at an auction in Austin Texas, and the next thing he knows, it is in ISIS propaganda videos, still in his company's livery complete with phone number.

How does a US Toyota end up with ISIS Syria a few weeks later? And surely that supply line can be easily traced.
Much better thank you.

Perhaps the US Treasury should have a quick word with the State Department.

// Recently, when the US State Department resumed sending non-lethal aid to Syrian rebels, the delivery list included 43 Toyota trucks.

Hiluxes were on the Free Syrian Army's wish list. Oubai Shahbander, a Washington-based advisor to the Syrian National Coalition, is a fan of the truck.

"Specific equipment like the Toyota Hiluxes are what we refer to as force enablers for the moderate opposition forces on the ground," he adds. Shahbander says the US-supplied pickups will be delivering troops and supplies into battle. Some of the fleet will even become battlefield weapons.

"You can absolutely expect for many of those trucks to be mounted with crew-served machine guns or other type of equipment, military equipment, that the opposition forces have access to. I mean, that's one of the reasons why the Toyota Hilux is such an important force multiplier, because it could be used both for humanitarian purposes and for operational purposes as well." //
IS and other rebel groups have also ended up with chemical weapons naively thought to have been "decommissioned" a long while ago

Hardly deliberate in the case of the OP i'd have thought
Not that ISIS is going to conquer the civilised world with 43 glorified 4x4s :-)

In 2013, when Cameron wanted the UK to aid the 'moderate rebels' the reason given that Assad was using chemical rebels. UN investigators found that the 'moderate rebels' were also using chemical weapons as well. How they got them, we were never told.
"Not that ISIS is going to conquer the civilised world with 43 glorified 4x4s".

No, there are other ways of doing that.
Add 834 to the number supplied.
good choice though because as we know from top gear the Hilux is a legendarily tough vehicle.
And if you can't believe Top Gear, well, who can you trust ;-)
"Assad was using chemical rebels" - wow gromit, assad has rebels made of chemicals?
Question Author
T3,
Well Saddam had Chemical Ali :-)
The whole thing out ther is so complex. This is compounded by hand wringing liberals in the West that bang on about legality of attacking our enemy ISIS.

The only way is for the West to get shot of ISIS, wherever they are and then leave the Middle East to sort out their individual problems. ie no more toppling dictators9or helping them).
