The ingredients being water, salt, and porridge oats.
I think it depends on the size of the bribe.

I like sweet porridge.

That's not our Jim360, is it?
Clue's in the name. He's Simon. I ain't.
Oh, you're really a Jim?

Could well be. A polymath, the inner workings of the universe, and the secret of the perfect breakfast, are grist for the mill to him.
He's grumpy tonight, Sandy, he must have missed a deadline
I wonder if I could do a PhD thesis on the Juke !

Actually I prefer James. I hate being called "jim" in person. But on the internet I chose it like 15 years ago and figured I may as well roll with it.
This is though........

This thread seems to have drifted away from its original intent. I offer my take on the perfect breakfast. Into half a litre of cold water drop 5 tablespoons of oats. Bring to the boil stirring continuously then simmer for a couple of minutes. This is best done the night before so as to allow the porridge to thicken and mature.
I'm not claiming I'd have won but might have got an honourable mention.
I have a spurtle. It belonged to my mother and before that, her mother. So, it's been well used over the century. I hate porridge though. !
Thank goodness for Google.
I was wondering what a spurtle was.

Not an acronym for "randy male turtle" after all.

ps: Your porridge sounds great Sandy, would have got my vote!

That's a shame, janbee. Does it lie unused, gathering dust, at the back of a kitchen drawer?
Sandy, yes unfortunately. It's in the shape of a thistle. Looks nice. Shoud really use it for stirring soup or something else. Shame to let it lie inloved at the VERY back of the drawer.
