I don't know about that since the indigenous population are now known as native Americans.
Regarding the influx of different immigrants into the US, is preciously the point I was making, multi-racism just does not work.

You have posted 3 different videos concerning altercations in the last few days and it seems our guests were the only ones who don't get on.
I note reference to chinkies in the lyrics. That's not racist is it.......

The indigenous population is the native population - and at this stage of its evolution, the vast majority of the indigenous population - the established inhabitants - are rooted in immigrant stock. Which is what I meant.
If I was born in the USA, I would not assume that tracing my ancestry back four hundred years to Dutch settlers made me an immigrant.

Melanie Eusebe, the founder, was on the radio this morning promoting quotas, she said, 'So my daughter doesn't have to ask why she earns less than the person next to her (fair enough, I'd say) and she can play football for Chelsea if she wants to'. Got to admit, that's where me and Mel parted company(metaphorically) That's just wrong on every level, don't you think?

Could cause a bit of a stir I would agree!! The present Mrs Hughes would certainly not sanction such goings-on at the hallowed Britannia Stadium!

I've checked with the OED, andy, and they assure me that you can't change the meaning of words then argue that you're right because it's 'what you meant'.

Then why do some wish to call themselves African Americans? //
I think that is a slightly different perspective - a large number of African Americans wish to acknowledge their ethnic origins in a way which Caucasian citizens do not.
