Yes, I'll watch.
I think Germaine Greer will tear him a new one personally.
As for tax credits, they are claimed by working FAMILIES across the country because bosses don't pay enough to their workers for normal life expenses.
On the BBC recently was a little quiz to see where you can afford to live. Turns out I can't afford anywhere if I want to buy and a small section of Northern England if I rent. Lucky I live in one of those areas isn't it?
My boss has at least 10 luxury cars and holiday cottages everywhere.
Why are you not angry with their greed instead of being angry at decent, hard working people who struggle to get by week by week while their employers offer them the minimum benefits and wages possible under law?
And no, I don't get benefits. I earn the tiniest amount over the threshold. That's fine by me, but FGS get off your high horses and walk a mile in their shoes.
A post from the Spectator;

Mike Mount
///A few months ago I attended a recording of Any Questions with Jonathan Dimbleby in the chair. It was held in the hall of a west London private school. The audience contained a large number of parents and I would guess was predominantly small “c” conservative. Before the programme began JD explained to the audience that if he felt time was running short he would raise his hands to indicate that we should stop applauding or whatever so that he could keep the programme running to time and move on to the next question – all perfectly reasonable. Once we got going though it quickly became apparent that when the labour representative (the lady who posted the white van tweet during the election) spoke he allowed the applause to run its course but when the conservative (M Gove) spoke he almost immediately raised his hand to curtail the audience response. This irritated many in the hall but of course was invisible to the radio audience who (as I confirmed by speaking to some listeners) had the impression that the live audience were overwhelmingly “right on liberals” with BBC approved views.

It was quite blatant but I suspect that JD wouldn’t even have been aware he was doing it given the view that most of his ilk have that their world view is the only reasonable and civilised one.///
Quizproquo, it's not about being against the people receiving Tax-credits, not from me, anyway. It's the anomaly of sometimes quite poor taxpayers subsidising global businesses/ fat cats who pay wages that people can't live on. And, again for me, hard working people having to go 'cap in hand' to the government to survive.
Why on earth would the BBC want to give the impression that its audience were "right on liberals"
Rather the opposite I'd have thought.
When I went to Any Questions the audience were told to make as much noise as they could! And they did :-)
Yeah, we know what they told you on the SWP coach, ichi. We're talking about in the studio. ;)
The SWP coach??
Oh Socialist Workers Party
(deep sigh)
