We see it all the time, our police, our armed forces, and now it seems our truckers.

/// This not an issue of patriotism, it's an issue about the law - and breaking it. ///
Ah over night you have suddenly become a stickler for keeping on track?
If you had bothered to noticed it was no I who brought the subject of patriotism up, but don't let that stop you from having a dig at me.
It is ironic that only yesterday you constantly took me to task for not answering sp1814, yet here today I am answering Canary42, but today that doesn't seem to suit you.
You are so, so fickle Mr Hughes. //
Never ask me ever again how your threads get side tracked, or petty stupid personal argument start.
I am exchanging a view, and debating a point, and you have to turn it into a snide petty personal attack - AGAIN!
Enjoy the rest of your thread without my contribution - it is simply not worth getting into another argument with you which is all to do with your personal animosity and nastiness, and nothing to do with your original question.
Try to stick to the point - please - for the sake of everyone else on here.

AOG,
Curious that someone so traditionalist and nostalgic is so keen for every Tom, Dick and Harry to carry these often fatal weapons. I am quite happy that they are illegal, and pleased that people are prosecuted processing them.
If people do not feel protected by the Police then we should put more resources into policing. But the fashion amongst you right wingers is to slash the police budgets to the bone.

If I were prepared to go in close then I might have considered becoming a policeman.
What if the criminal suddenly drew a knife or more serious a gun, bit late then to get your taser out of your pocket.
I don't think your scenarios prove anything. Tasers still create a, "guard and prisoner", relationship, which is not good.

And please show me where I have announced that?

What you mean introducing more stop and searches?
Neh, the fashion amongst you left wingers is to condemn and criticise our police at each and every opportunity.

Yes much more safer to sit at one's computer criticising those who risk their lives each and every day, so that you and I can sleep safely in our beds.
/// What if the criminal suddenly drew a knife or more serious a gun, bit late then to get your taser out of your pocket. ///
I don't think they keep them in their pockets, and more than able to get them out if confuted with a knife, might be a little more difficult if confronted with a gun, but a little quick on the draw, is much more protection than no weapon at all.
/// I don't think your scenarios prove anything. Tasers still create a, "guard and prisoner", relationship, which is not good. ///
I don't know about "guard and prisoner" or even a "relationship", but surely the whole idea is, a "capturer and potential prisoner."
