Terrorists Entering Europe
Why are the security sevices so amazed that a jihadi terrorist got into Europe undetected? As countless Syrians have demonstrated, it isn't necessary to go through immigration controls. Europe has a coastline thousands of miles long, most of it un-monitored. I have in the past entered the UK several times un-inspected by customs and on one occasion I didn't have a passport. It is not difficut.

The Paris arp tricky was by homegrown French/Belgian extremists.
They might be trying to re-enter the country within the wave of refugees, but if that option wasn't open to them, they would do it another.
The 7/7 bombers trained in Afghanistan, and returned. Not disguised as refugees, but they got back to unravel their crimes.
Thinking that stopping refugees will make us safer is a grave error.

I'm unsure that there being more than one way to get into a country means one should imply border controls are not relevant and we need not try to secure borders. Leaving it easy to sneak in is bound to make us less safe even if no system would identify every terrorist entry. A nation should make identification of incomers efficient.
The people who have been against taking refugees from the start are the ones prattling that they are terrorists.
Terrorists are nearly always homegrown. Before this refugee crisis they travelled to the middle east and trained. The 7/7 bombers had been to Afghanistan before attacking London. If we were to refuse to take any refugees, the threat from terrorists would not go away. We would not be safer.

Gromit, no one has said 'they are terrorists', simply that there may be terrorists among them. ‘Nearly always home grown’ implies that sometimes they aren’t – and indeed, sometimes they aren’t. You may support unfettered immigration, but to claim that it brings no threat whatsoever with it is unrealistic in the extreme.

/// Thinking that stopping refugees will make us safer is a grave error. ///
Thinking that allowing in masses of 'refugees' will not increase the chances of terrorism, is sheer lunacy.
And if one says, "yes but they are already here" I say this didn't we allow masses of immigrants also, had we not, do you think we would have a problem now?

Ver the last 10 years we have probably taken in 5 million migrants/asylum seekers/legal immigrants.
How many terrorist attacks have been by people born abroad? - None.
How many terrorist attacks by people born and raised here? - All of them.
So our attention, resources, money and time would be wasted targetting refugees. The enemy is already here.

Gromit, //How many terrorist attacks have been by people born abroad? - None. //
Gromit, not true. One of the perpetrators of the failed London car bombings and the attack on Glasgow airport was born abroad. The rest are the children of immigrants – and Islam is the common factor in all. What is wrong with you?!!

//But what is the background to these terrorist that are already here? //
Oh, about 20 years of having to put up with the p-word, or the n-word or just everyday, run-of-the-mill, casual racism from people dressed up in the union flag.
Funny thing the brain: it works by associating one thing with another; nerve cell connections made and then reinforced by repetition.
My guess if that they met 20 skinheads for every liberal luvvie then, on the whole, they would despise their fellow British citizens.
But, if their book actively instructs them to not even mix with indigenous prople in non-muslim countries, let alone coming for a pint and mellowing out, then it is understandable that they get pi::ed off with us.
Instead of the two terms "moderate" and "extremist" maybe we should distinguish between those who are "tolerant" *of us*, including the abusive types, and "intolerant" ones. The former will probably come across as exasperated whereas the latter will be, superficially, charming. That's what psychopaths are like.
