Why was this woman released by the police with just a caution, her only punishment was to be struck off as a registered teacher by the Education Workforce Council.

She not only falsely posed as a 13 year old girl so as to ruin an innocent man's life by accusing him a paedophile, but when she was found out she tried to place the blame on her estranged husband.

Not nearly enough, she could have been 'struck off' for a much lesser offence.

That headmaster has been given a 'life's sentence', no smoke without fire some will say, plus the fact of the worry he and his family have been forced to endure, and to say nothing of her long suffering ex-husband.

The woman is clearly mentally ill rather than a criminal, she needs help rather than locking up. As I have said many times locking up people who are mentally ill rather than criminal does no good to anyone. Over 30% of all prisoners are actually mentally ill and should not be locked up, but it is much easier to just lock them up and forget them rather than treat them.
She will never teach again, probably never work again.
The headteacher she tried to accuse has come out of this with his reputation intact and even enhanced. The allegations were so obviously totally false that no one will take notice of them, apart from praising his fortitude in rebutting them.

I think she hasn't gone to prison because there is absolutely no way of proving she did it. She was offered the caution and obviously accepted it but they can't then haul her before the court.

All that can be proved is that the false claims were made by somebody using her IP address. If her ex husband couldn't prove that he was not at home at those times then it's a stalemate.

I agree with EDDIE . prison would be of no use accept if she were offered suitable counselling and help while in there. She could of course teach the inmates maths.....

Douglas -do you think a man posing as a 13 year old boy making allegations against a female teacher would have got a custodial sentence? Not sure where the gender thing comes into this -no sexual crime was committed.

She admitted the crime and was given a caution - she was struck off by her Professional Board -nothing to do with the Police.
